about me

kellywilliams_headshot

I’m Kelly, a 30-something vegan trying to make the world a little bit better for having been here. Living a cruelty-free lifestyle is one of the best ways to do that. I’ve been vegan since 2009, and making that change was one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done.

In recent years, I’ve also committed to buying ethically made clothing and shoes — because the compassion for animals that drives my cruelty-free life needs to extend to human animals, too. And I’m working on a low-waste lifestyle, getting rid of single-use plastics in favor of more earth-friendly, reusable items. I’m not perfect, but that’s OK.

When I’m not experimenting in the kitchen or obsessively researching ethically made, eco-friendly, leather-free shoes, I’m working on craft projects (check ’em out here), reading, or planning my next travel adventure. I grew up in Rhode Island, went to school in Minnesota, and worked in Wisconsin for a few years, but I now live in Maryland with my partner, Steven, and our adopted dogs, Moria (at left below, pictured with Luna) and Rosie (below right). I’m a senior editor at a national animal welfare nonprofit, but all opinions in this blog are thoroughly my own.

Affiliate links

Go Vegga participates in a select few affiliate programs, including Amazon Associates. Purchasing items through my links comes at no extra cost or hardship to you, but it does provide me with (very modest) compensation. I use this income to cover the costs of my domain. Note that I only link to products I truly recommend — I have turned down affiliate offers that don’t jive with my ethics.

Product reviews

Unless otherwise noted, all product reviews were initiated by me and are simply meant to help my readers find cruelty-free vegan products. As such, all content is strictly my own and contains my honest opinions. I pay for all products myself unless otherwise noted.

If you represent a company that would like me to review a product, send me an email so we can discuss it! Please note that I will only accept products in exchange for an honest and unbiased review, and I will not review products that aren’t vegan and cruelty-free.

Sponsored posts

As of August 2019, Go Vegga does not feature sponsored posts. That said, I am open to partnerships with companies that align with my own ethics: worker-friendly, cruelty-free, and vegan. Please email me if you’d like to explore this option. Any sponsored posts will be clearly marked as such.

Giveaways, contests, and sweepstakes

Occasionally, Go Vegga will run a giveaway in partnership with a brand or product I believe in. Unless otherwise noted, I will always pay for the product myself. Although I’ll advertise giveaways on Instagram or Facebook, I’ll never ask you to follow me (or anyone else) on social media as a prerequisite for entering a giveaway.

  2. “Being vegan doesn’t mean depriving yourself of delicious, nourishing food” – love this, Kelly! I’m not 100% vegan but I love making tasty nutritional treats. My mom has been a vegetarian for over 30 years and my partner for the past year or so – so I’m totally on your wave length! I look forward to following you! I found you through One Green Planet ;) x
