A Very Autumnal Giveaway

Look, I’m only a couple of days late in getting this post up! I promised you a giveaway, and a giveaway you shall receive.

Because fall has undeniably arrived here in the Midwest, I went with an autumnal theme for this giveaway. Check it out:

This could be yours!

The goods:

* Stash’s Pumpkin Spice decaf tea. Normally I don’t do decaf, but this flavor called to me in the store, and I couldn’t resist! Although it’s more “spice” than “pumpkin,” it’s still really quite tasty and perfect for a chilly October morning; I enjoy dipping a Gingersnapper into it for maximum spice deliciousness (and I’m usually not a dipper – soggy crumbs in my tea?! Blech!).
* Organic & Pure Cinnamon Chai with Rooibus tea. I haven’t tried this one, but it looked so autumnal that I had to grab a box!
* Bayfield no-sugar-added apple butter. Yummy locally-made apple butter!
* A stash of Larabars. I went with vaguely fall-ish (or perhaps just holiday-ish) flavors: Pecan Pie, Apple Pie, Gingersnap, Carrot Cake, and Banana Bread.
* Vegan Soups and Hearty Stews for All Seasons. I wanted to include a cookbook, and Nava Atlas’ delightful collection of soups and stews seemed perfect! The section with recipes for fall are chock full of squash, lentils, taters, and all sorts of hearty, filling ingredients. Mmm!

The logistics:

To enter, simply comment and let me know your favorite thing about fall. If you don’t have a blog that’s linked in your comment, please leave an e-mail address so I can get in contact with you!

For an extra entry, mention the giveaway on your blog and then come back here and leave another comment.

I’ll randomly select a winner on Wednesday, 15th October at 7:00 PM CST.

As ever, thanks for reading! Good luck! :)

  1. My favorite thing about fall is making soups and stews…it seems so sacreligious to make them when the weather is hot, but soup and sandwich fall nights are the best! :)

  2. My absolute favorite thing is all the pumpkins! I get all giddy when the sugar pumpkins appear at the store and I buy 2 for “temporary” decoration as soon as they come out, then use them for pies on Thanksgiving.

  3. I love the crispy sound of fallen leaves when you step on them… really, that is my favorite fall thing. But fall is also my favorite season so I could list another hundred or so things I love about it :).

  4. My favorite thing about fall, other than all the yummy baked treats, is the smell in the early morning. It’s crisp and clean and smooth.

  5. Hmmm… Fall is my favorite time of year, no doubt. I particularly love the colorful leaves and drop in temperatures. I’d rather be cozied up under the blankets reading a book than laying on the beach in the sun. Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway! The soup cookbook looks wonderful!

  6. I don’t know if I could chose just *one* thing that is my favorite about fall.
I love the simple things: the pumpkins and acorns. I love the colors-the deep reds, oranges, and browns. I love the smells: baked pie, cookies and breads. I love how my cooking changes: soups, stews and more baked items. I love the leaves falling from the trees and laying all over the ground. I love the cooler weather and the overall feeling of joy I feel during this season. I LOVE FALL.

  7. Oh, my, what do I NOT like about Fall! The urge to bake and cook comes back and muffins and soups perfume the house! The colored leaves excite me during a walk in one of our parks. Then I absolutely MUST have a glass of cold apple cider! The Fall festivals really get me jazzed and our weekends are so full wandering through them admiring crafts and floating from the spicy fragrance of apple butter cooking over the open fire in a giant copper kettle and brats grilling near-by! Fall is just a potpourri of sights and sounds and smells.

  12. Please pick me! LOL! I LOVE Nava’s work and actually this cookbook is the only one I don’t have of hers. I love everything about fall! The food is amazing-a perfect transition from light summer to hot, filling, stick to your winter food. I love that the food is perfect for vegetarians as the center pieces of fall food are pumpkins, apples, squashes…(unlike summer where it’s burgers and winter where is meat laden stews…) I love the weather, the leaf changes…I love it all!

  14. My favorite part of fall (besides my corduroy blazer and houndtooth scarf) is coming home to new York for my parents birthdays. We always celebrate by going to festivals – like falling leaves and pumpkinvlle. We eat pumpkin donuts and ice cream alongside hot cider. Even though I’m almost 30 I look forward to this time all year- family and food = ultimate happiness

  15. The scenery-when the leaves change colour the result is really breathtaking. This was especially true when I went zipling yesterday afternoon. It was like standing on top of this gold and auburn see. Gorgeous, I assure you (not to mention an exhilerating way to spend the day despite the cold and rain we had up here. I highly recommend zipling to anyone who has ever (or never) considered it).

  17. My favorite thing about fall in VA was apple season, but now that I’m in Texas, fall hasn’t really started! I suppose I like my lower electricity bill now that it doesn’t go above 90 degrees during the day.

  18. My favorite part of fall has to be the weather. Here in Texas it does snow a few days during the fall/winter seasons but it’s between 40-70 F for a good solid four months and that’s my kind of range!

Just found your blog from The Vegan Everything, glad to be a subscriber now! Thanks for putting a giveaway like this together ^_^

  20. My favorite thing about fall is also the weather. It’s cool enough for some gorgeous hiking/camping/rock climbing/ endeavors and the reason I call october “rocktober”. I also like how sometimes it rains, in los angeles, making it perfect for staying in, drinking tea and snuggling.

  22. Well, I love the fall weather and the leaf colors. But alas, I have none of that where I live now. Boooohoo. Well ok, it’s “starting” to get cooler in the mornings, before heating up to the upper 80’s in the afternoon :) I love that you can open your windows again in the fall, after being enclosed with air conditioning all summer.
